Falconry display day!

Hi Falconers! Im not actually a falconer myself but I have to admit I am a fan. I recently spent a vacation in Spain and went to the most wonderful falconry show. It was up in the Barcelona mountains and was called Cim d' Aguiles... Meaning eagles hill in Catalan (I think)

They started flying an amazingly well trained African spotted eagle owl... He or she (how do you even tell that?) flew so slightly and so close to the audience that everybody ended up ducking for their lives!

Next, they brought out about 20 kites which they flew in between the audience. There were many other birds too such as the snake eagle in the photo, which would not stop screaming. My knowledge is poor, but I'm pretty sure that means he was an imprint?and of course the falcons!

They did a great show using the lures a peregrine and a white falcon. Thinking about it now, it was possible a Saker although I didn't think they could be pure white!

At the end of the show they bought out the eagles, they had many eagles but they flew their bald eagle, snake eagle, and the black eagle. While there was turkey vultures hopping around as well, ridiculous birds!

Apart from being a show this place had a restaurant, and was practically a little zoo full of birds. They give you a tour round as well, explaining all the birds to you. Too bad if you don't speak Catalan or Spanish! Nevertheless, anyone round Barcelona area should definitely visit this place.
